If I were to shorten the barrel on a modern gas operated auto, like a Remington, how short could I go before I would need to do other work to make it cycle? I'm thinking of AR15s, where you must inlarge the gas port when you shorten the barrel, do you do this with a shotty????

According to an 02/07 in the mid gulf coast region of FL that i've spoken to, as long as you stay in Title 1 barrel legnth ranges, you are OK with most production autoloaders.
