"The last shell" that won't pump out is an empty...correct?

When you took it apart, how did you do it?  Did you pull the trigger housing out? Or just take the barrel, fore end and bolt assembly out while leaving the trigger housing in place? Is that the very FIRST time you have taken it apart?

When it does this, have you tried pushing in the action bar lock tab (same as if the gun was never fired) to see if that will allow the fore end to come back?

Obviously, you should not have to push the action bar locking tab "in" after that last shot is fired, but this soulds to me as if maybe that lock is not releasing quite all the way...although exactly why it would do that only on the last shot I don't know. There is really nothing to interfere with the action bar lock unless there is a burr on either that left action bar or the lock itself. Otherwise, I would use some good gun oil and oil the trigger group (no need to slather it on, just lube the contact points) then see what happens. I would not take the trigger group apart if that does not do it...send the gun back to Remington...they will make it right so long as you have not "home gunsmithed" it.
