Anyone know where I can get a Knights Armament rail system for my 870?

MSTN supports the board, so you might give them a call first.  Southeast Tactical usually has them (it's where I bought mine--they were the only place to have it in stock at the time), so you might need to just call them as their site seems to be down.

How does it mount onto the reciever?

I tried all these guys a few weeks ago and none had the KAC 870 in stock nor expected to have them any time in the near future... :(

Have you checked out side armor holster's web site. The have a rail sysytem.

A band fits over the barrel and is retained by the barrel when the barrel is inserted into the receiver.  The mid-point of the rail is screwed to the top of the band.  The front of the rail is wedged upwards (ever so slightly) against the barrel.  It's really quite ingenious.

Mike, you must have gotten one of Cal's last ones... I recall you posting not too long ago that you bought yours from there.  Can't find these anywhere.  :(
