Can anybody give me info on a shotgun that was gifted to me?

Eastfield 916-A by Smith & Wesson.

Since it was a gift, you didn't do too bad.

Unfortunately, the S&W Eastfield 916 was a rare disaster for S&W.

The gun was a version of the old Noble design, and was made in Japan by Howa, for S&W.

To make a long sad story short, the design was a disastrous failure, that did damage to S&W's reputation.

The guns were notorious for low quality, poor fit and finish, and had a well-earned reputation for reliability problems.

One brand new, in the box might sell for around $250.00, IF you could find a taker who was unaware of the guns reputation.
