I thought you all might like to see some videos from a recent match in Tucson I attended.
I shot in open class using my Limited Glock 21, Tactical Scope rifle (CAV-15 20" with ACOG), I used my 14" Short Barrelled Remington 870 with SST-870 and OKO 8MOA reflex (dot sights on your shotgun put you in open class). Generally the people in open class run all open class guns, and have speed loaders for their shotguns. Needless to say I was pretty suprised when I came in 2nd place for Open Class.
Here are some vids from the stages that used the shotgun:
www.cavalryarms.com/vids/Russell1A.WMVStage Description:
Start in Box A, engage the 3 slug targets at 25-30 yards, then the steel poppers. Advance to the carpet and shoot the other 4 poppers. Clear and Safe shotgun. Engage rifle targets 2 rounds each out to 200 yards over the barrel.
The barrel was just high enough you couldn't go prone behind it easily, and just short enough kneeling didn't work well.
www.cavalryarms.com/vids/Russell2A.WMVStage Description:
shoot the clays and teas star from port 1...moving to position 2 shoot more clays....at position 2 shoot the poppers and the clay thrown by the popper. Advance to position 3 clear and safe shotgun, draw pistol and engage pistol targets.
If you've never shot 3 gun before, track down a club in your area and give it a try. Its a lot of fun, good training, and puts you and your gear to the test.
