Ok here are my choices:

Big5 has a Norinco Shotgun.
It is EXACTLY Like this one:
gunbroker.com/auction/SearchResults.asp

I like it because it is on sale for $170

The Mossberg they have is a 500 I believe.

It is all synthetic has a 5+1 capacity and it comes with a 18.5" barrel and 28" barrel for
$209

So, which one would you guys go for?

Thanks for the input
Fidel

Between those 2 I'd definitely pick the Mossberg 500.

Why don't you look around for a Police Trade in Rem 870? They can still be had for $150-$200.

Last time I looked, there were 9 plain barreled 1100s on Gunsamerica for under $300.

Thanks,
Lee

Lee's right, the 870 is a much better gun but I did not want to up the money. Plus I  always sound like a  cheerleader for Remington. MIKE.

That Norinco had some good value atleast the one i handled looked and preformed damn good for 180.00 dollars. Black synthetic stock and the steal looked nice and with 00 buck she was a good shooter. Pickd up two of the buggers due to the import ban on Norinco. Now i wish i could find the Norinco 1911 45 acp for that much and we would be happy campers.

Well, I got the Mossberg 500 today.
Can't shoot it till the weekend, but I can wait.
Now I need a sling and maybe a side saddle.

The only thing I am wondering is how well do I have to clean in between uses.  Besides the bore and the chamber, what else needs cleaning?
Also, does it require a lot of skill to "field strip" these things?  For reference I can comfortably detail strip my glock and put back together with ease.

Thanks for the replies
Fidel

Fidel, Congrats! Now off to Walmart you go and buy a cheap clay bird thrower, some clay birds and the cheapest shotshells with #7 1/2, #8 or #9 birdshot that they have. Have fun, MIKE.

Fidel,
I am a notorious tinkerer.  With a parts diagram and some patience i worked out the detail disassembly (and took notes for future reference).  I'm sure you can, too.  If you want my notes i can prolyy dig 'em up somewhere.

And congratulations on an excellent gun. Mine is the seven shot tube, with short barrel. feeds and fires everything, even those short Aquila slugs!  I put peep sights on it and use it for dear hunting in MA.  Groups about 3" at fifty yards. I got the composite stock and since have sawed off an inch of reach. It works better in winter garb that way.

Whoops, did not mean to highjack you thread.

I also have a Mossberg 500- parkerized with a heat shield. I bought it with a pistol grip and did not like that too much so I got an aftermarket pistolgrip buttpad. It is nice except that it is difficult to work the action bar to rack the slide. As far as the breaking down of it for cleaning make sure you take your time and pay close attention to how all of parts come out. I have a Remington 870 which is a breeze to clean and break down. The Mossberg is much more difficult.
