I do. I ordered one through a friendly FFL, and paid $695.00 for shipping, taxes, and the gun.
The recoil pad on this thing is amazing. It shoots softer than my 1100 20 gauge. I liked the sights so much, I put the same thing on my other shotgun. I haven't installed the side-shell carrier, but it looks 'cheesy'. It velcro's on, and has elastic bands instead of hard plastic. Cycles like a champ on everything. Slugs to AA target loads. I have about 500 rounds through it without a problems. I've been using it for trap as practice, and I'm doing pretty good with it. Shot a 21/25 yesterday. It may be short on barrel, but with the extended mag tube for weight, I seem to do okay. I like the gray stock since it doesn't get hot in the Texas sun, unlike my other synthetic stock shotgun. I also like the tac bolt handle. It's easier on the hand, and I also put one of those on my other shotgun. Let me know if you have any other questions. |

I have played with a couple of the "cheesy" sideshell carriers from Bagworks. They are the best thing out there.
When I had the Sidesaddle plastic carrier on my 1100 the shells constantly rattled out. Look around the 3gun circles and the Bagworks stuff is the standard. |

Thanks for the reply! I was going to get one for home defense and for shooting trap for something else to do with the weapon. It's good to know it does well in trap shooting. You can change the barrels right? I understand you can use any barrel made for the 1100..... Choke tubes? Does it come with any? 2 3/4" dedicated chamber right? |

TV, If you are shooting that good with the short barrel on the CM I would like to see you shoot trap with a real trap gun and see how well you do. MIKE.

Saw the Remingtom 1100 CM for the first time in person today. Ballanced very well. I put it on the list. MIKE.

The CM comes with 3 chokes, IC, Mod, and rifled.
The gun is dedicated to the 2-3/4" shells. Not a huge problem for me. Barrels are interchangable with any 1100, though the CM uses a light contour barrel. I am getting addicted to this trap game. Shot a 22/25 this weekend. Definitely a mental game! I won't rest until I get that 25/25. I would hate to change shotguns right now. |

TV, As you have learned trap is a rising target. What a trap barrel does with it's high rib is compensate for that. Right now for you to hit the bird you have to block the target out. With a high rib trap barrel you can keep the target in view and the barrel will shoot high for you, hitting the bird while still keeping it in view. Also trap stocks are straighter, like a rifle, less drop. Don't be cheap, it's only money, buy a trap gun. MIKE.

BTT. Anyone else get ahold of one of these? I shot trap for the first time yesterday, didn't do real well but had a great time. I'm thinking of getting a Comp Master and a 30" barrel. My only worry is that an 1187 would be a better buy for trap/skeet/clays. I'd rather have one gun and two barrels. Is there any need for 3" shell compatibility?

All clay games are shot with 2 3/4" shells. Most trap/ skeet / sporting clays/ five stand ranges limit you to 2 3/4" and shot no larger than #7 1/2. MIKE.

hopefully i am going to convert my 1187 to 3gun within the month (already got a fiber optic sight, just need tube load gate and a side saddle) something has always puzzled me though, what exactly is the difference between teh 1100 and the 1187 |

The new 1100's are 2 3/4" only chamber. There were Magnum 1100's with 3" chambers made in the past. The 11-87 are offered in both 3" and 3 1/2" chamber. MIKE.

The 11/87 gas system is a clusterfuck. My 11/87 Police would only run on high brass heavy loads. My previous 1100 ran on everything. I'm glad Remington built it on the 1100 action.
I had turned split times with my 1100 in the low .20s. They aren't that slow. |

I have a good friend that uses a 11-87 S.P. every week at skeet. It shoots the low brass fine. I think Remington is using the 1100 platform for all target model guns, Sporting Clays, Trap, Skeet and the 11-87 for Magnum guns. MIKE.

Bob - and others, What sort of shooting are you doing, and what range? Will I have to change out the barrel for trap right away or can I make do for a while? |

i shoot some trap and skeet, mainly 3 gun at a small club (although not that often, which tells you how much i currently use my gun)
for a 22" you should do okay i guess for trap (probably for skeet though), but since ive only done trap once i couldnt tell you, i mainly shoot skeet. this shotgun is mainly aimed for 3 gun shooters, not really skeet/trap people. |

My experience with 11/87s is that when they are set up to shoot light loads they really take a beating with heavy buck and slugs. The barrels with the small ports for heavy loads like the police guns, won't cycle light loads. The 1100 gas system seems to have a broader range.

that doesnt make any sense considering 1100s only come in 2 3/4" chambers, and 1187s some in 3" and 3 1/2" (now im just going on information from this thread)
