I am going to SBR one of my 870 Police guns. My initial thought was to simply have the barrel cut to 14" once the paperwork is done and in-hand then send it to Vang for some of his magic. I have no doubt about his work, but I do question if porting such a short barrel will be of value...any opinions on this?

Also, Remington has made a couple of runs of 14" factory barrels choked, IIRC, modified, for the FBI and others...are any such barrels readily available to properly licensed civilian shooters? If so, where?

They had several 14" Remington barrels in the last catalog. $69 to $149. The $149 came with a ghost ring rear sight and front night sight. The ghost ring would need to be mounted.

I ordered one of the Reminton 14" from CDNN about six weeks ago as a spare for my Wilson AOW.

They are barrels, just be prepared to send them a copy of your Class III paperwork when ordering.
