personally i'd reccomend that you figure out what features you need first. You want to hit targets at 50yrds?
I'd start thinking about barrel length and weight.
Both the Ruger and Browning can be had with pretty long barrels. Browning even has a distinct "sillohette" (sp?
) model.
The buckmarks tend to be lighter than the comparable ruger.
A 6" S&W 41 could do it, but I don't think they get any longer than 6". Both the browning and rugers go out to at least 10"
