I just bought a case of Federal Champion 22LR target ammo from MidwayUSA for our college shooting team to use for training.  We shoot old, Hamden-made High Standard pistols.  Should there be any concern using this ammo (rated for 1240fps on the Federal website) with our pistols?

Is there any source for heavier springs?

Thanks.

High Velocity can be hard on High Standards, some tendency for frame cracks. Check out the High Standard topic on rimfirecentral.com. I went back to strictly std velocity pretty quickly.

BTW-Where in CT?

I will look over there, thanks!

A little on the hot side for HS's especially if they are old and have tired recoil springs.

Stick with SV, good prices can be had if your school team is a CMP affiliated club.

Too hot, and swap out the springs on a regular basis anyhow.
