What is the attraction?

I like how they look, but why are they so popular?

Light weight, threaded, aluminum?

They cost as much as a complete Ruger.

I want one. Talk me out of it.
This is the pic that started the whole mess. The one on the bottom.

Don't get it.  How's that for talking you out of it.

On the other hand, I love mine.  Shoots great.  Customer Service is first rate.

They cost more than a complete Ruger.

Because you have to buy a complete Ruger, just to get a lower.

Ruger >    < Customer that want's just a lower

They are nice and light for packin around all day.

If you want to hang a suppressor off a mkII, it is the onliest bestest answer. :-)

The only issue I had with mine, was that there is a bump between the feed ramp and chamber.  You will need to have this polished (grownd down) to ensure realiable feeding with all types of ammo.  Of course, if you only shoot the quality stuff--mostly round nose--you probably won't have any issues.  For me, I wanted to be able to shoot it all, shoot it all.

I use a Tactical Solutions barrel on a Ruger MkII for competition. Love the weight / accuracy vs the OEM. No regrets.

Customer service is fantastic.

I called them and said, I want one of the threaded ones but I want it to be red.
They said, Ok and made one for me and one for my buddy.

I ordered a red, threaded, no flutes upper.

You guys are a big FAIL on talking me out of it.

It will be here tomorrow. I like the look of the metal Mark III lowers, but I only have a new 22/45.

We'll see how it looks. At least it will be light

If you don't like it send it to me.  I have a stainless Ruger MKII that I can use it with.

I had one and it kept misfiring, I sent it back to pac-lite twice , both times they sent it back it still malfunctioned. They never did tell me what they did to it (if anything) despite several messages. Luckily my dealer took it back . The service from them was OK .

I do have a 10/22 threaded barrel from them that runs great though ,

It's Aluma-Hyde from Brownell's in a spray can. Easy to use and super durable and strong.  Just let it cure and you are good to go.

Dad has a fluted Pac-Lite on one of his MkIIs. I have a VQ target upper on one of mine. We each have others with 5.5" bull barrels. All have comps.
In competition use the main difference is that the Pac-Lite has a little more muzzle jump. The Pac-Lite is very accurate, about equal to my VQ upper.
I like my pistol to be a little muzzle heavy for bullseye shooting, but that Pac-Lie is so much lighter it isn't funny. I may get one for one of my other MkIIs. My wife and kids would have a much easier time holding it.
The only downside for me is that a lighter barrel is harder to hold on target in bullseye. The heavier barrel just hangs on target easier/longer.

They are made by alumagrips.com and I like them alot.  Very customizable and ordered how you like.  There are alot of choices, colors, and finish.  They are lightweight, great finish and fit.  I have two sets and would get another pair if I did another project.
