I was looking to buy a sig 1911 but there is very little to be said about the sig's 1911. I've seen alittle bit about the guns on this forum good and bad. I think the model I am looking at is a .45 S.S. target 5" for $1,000. Please give me your 2 cents thanks.

I'd rather spend $1000 on a Springfield MC Operator.

They are thicker and heavier than a 1911 should be.  I had an earlier GSR and it was a piece of shit.  It went back to Sig the same week I got it.

I would rather have a Colt.  I am far from being a Colt fan.  (two Kimbers here)

I own a Springfield 1911 Loaded, a Colt XSE, and a Sig GSR.  I have owned a Kimber TLE II.  Out of all of them the Sig is the nicest fitted and finished.  I bought mine when the were little over $750 NIB 3 years ago.  I wish I would have bought another.  I will never own another Kimber.

I have several 1911s including Sig, Para-Ordnance, Springfield, and Kimber.  I have never had a problem with any of them but the Sig seems the smoothest if you can understand what I mean.

By the way, are you law-enforcement, military, etc.?  If you are, the L.E. price on a Sig 1911 is better than what you listed.

i spent 799 for one new in the box, manufactured in may of this year.  shop around, and you might find one even lower than officer pricing!

sweeeeeet shooter too.  nice trigger for box stock.

swap out that lanyard loop msh though- its sharp enough to cut you!

i like it- just remember- it dosent fit in standard 1911 kydex, and 1911 leather is kind of a stretch.  spend the $ and buy stuff dedicated to the sig.
