[ARCHIVED THREAD] - I did something foolish today.

I bought my first 1911. I always want one and even though I should have saved the money, I picked it up today.

An Ed Brown Special Force with Gen III coating. I would post a pic but I am not sure how to on this site.

I cannot wait until I get this to the range.

Just like you would on any site

upload your pics from your digital camera to photobucket.com, then copy the URL link for the pic in photobucket - post/reply here and click on the insert image button - and follow the instructions

If you mean that you simply put it on your credit card rather than having the funds planned and saved, then yes, that was foolish. Even more so by choosing an expensive model that many wait long years until they can afford. If that's not what you meant, never mind.

Buying guns on credit without specific and available budget allocated is foolish. It is fiscally irresponsible. Guns are a discretionary purchase and their purchase should be deferred until funds not allocated for higher priorities are available. It is simply dumb to charge discretionary items and pay outrageous credit card rates. Are you saying that it's OK to go buy guns on your credit card before you have the money? That's is simply uninformed and down that path lies a morass of future credit problems. This is not responsible advice to anyone and I really can't imagine what your point might be.
