Just got my Springfield back from getting its much needed sight upgrade from Novak. I am really pleased and if it wasn't pouring down rain I would be going to qualify with it right now, so I guess it will wait till Fri night

It was a 10 day turn around on the sight installation. Whats up with everyone trying to pull my man card over the range being closed during our wrath of god like rain. I catch the bad guys in all conditions, I cant help it if they close the outdoor range when it rains.

Beautiful!  I love that set-up!  I prefer the original style hammer and grip safety, but really think the standard sights are almost useless.

Very nice.  Did you have to send them the entire gun, or just the slide?   Did the slide have to be refinished, or do they just touch up the dovetails?

Just sent the slide. I have no idea how they just touched up the cuts but I am really pleased.  It was brought to my attention that the slide to frame fit on my 1911 may not be the best. The rails stick out a little beyond the slide, I just emailed Springfield to see if its normal or not but it doesnt seem to effect the operation and the slide has no play in it vertical or horizontal.

Which sights did you get?  I was thinking of sending my Kimber slide to them for some of the wide notch sights.  What did the whole thing cost you with shipping, installation, and the sights?

This was my experience with Novak several years ago.  A guy who worked there even called to ask if I wanted him to touch up my slide (a Colt) with cold blue where he'd cut it for the sites.  It was ballz on accurate when I got it back.  All in all a 100% experience.

I called them....the total cost for installation is $115 + cost of sights + $12-16 return shipping.

It is not normal.  Something is out of spec.

Put my 250 rounds through it and its like butter. I used a variety of magazines and had no feed issues sights were great. Novak is the best  quick turn around good work and I am very pleased.  These sights are the Novak LMC03 package  and I gotta say it took the MilSpec from nice gun to great gun in one week.

I sent my Hi-Power to them.  At some point I will get another 1911 and send it to them.
