Most people will suggest a FLGR for a DE, due to the fact that it can reduce muzzle flip. The Commonolli frame saver is a good one. Brownells stocks them.

I use an Ed Brown two piece with shokbuffs. Others have used the GI style guide with no issues.

Honestly, I can tell that your recoil spring selection and a EGW firing pin stop are more important than the guide rod. I use a 20# Wolff Progressive spring for some of the heavier loads and a 18# for target rounds.

I have the STI and a Wolff 23# recoil spring.
