I took a Delta Gold Cup in a trade this weekend. A couple of folks told me I scored the Holy Grail of the Delta's:
Blue Delta Gold Cup-probably 85-90% condition. Some minor finish wear from the box and a couple of minor scratch's.
Adjustable Trigger-Sight's and flattop slide.
Serial is: DG062XX.
With box-paperwork-trigger adjustment tool and 2 mags.
Pistol is bone stock and slide and frame are uncracked.
It has been fired but does not apper to be more than maybe 500 rounds.
I gave the guy $800.00 consideration towards a Bronco I sold him.

Anybody here well versed on the Delta's that can give me some info on it?
When made and how many were made.
A real world value?

Thanks!!

Here is a site with most of the answers. I have a Delta Gold Cup Enhanced in Stainless that I probably should not be shooting, as according to Colt only about 1100 were made.
I use it regularly in competition, with medium power loads.

I would very much like to see a picture of your Gold Cup enhanced. On other Colts, the enhanced versions have the extended beaver tail, commander hammer, and flat top slide with an 'E' in the serial number. I was curious to see how it differs from my standard Gold Cut DE.

Delta Gold Cup # DGO1XXXE finger groove under the trigger guard, beveled mag well, extended bevertail-- don't remember the rest but it is a keeper cause it shoots so well!
It really needs a good cleaning! Sorry for the big pic, don't know how to make it smaller.
