If for some reason you could not own, carry, or in any way possess a 1911, then what would be your next favored gun?  I carry my Kimber 95% of the time, but if there were no 1911's, I'd go with the SIG 226.  What's your vote?

I'm assuming that we're discussing .45 ACP's here, so:

  1. Sig P220

  2. XD .45 ACP

Hmmm all depends on where I am carrying and what I am wearing.

If I took the 1911 out of the rotation the others in it would remain the same.

Glock 19, Glock 36, Rohrbaugh 9 mm, S&W 340 PD & HKP7M8

One thing I do not have but would have the money to buy in a minute if I didn't spend a small fortune 1911's all the time would be an ASP now that is a COOL carry gun!  Most people would not carry something that rare or they spent that much on but like my custom 1911's if I own it I will carry it.

I don't know about that.    As for Glocks, I'll probably never shoot a 1911 as well as a Glock, but that's because I've been forced to shoot a Glock for the last 14 years.  My choices are limited by my department to a G21, G22, G23, G27, G30, G35, or a G36.  When I retire, I'll make the switch to a 1911, and it will most likely be a Para framed Colt Delta.

I'd probably use my Glock22.

1911s first and always, but before I owned my first 1911 I bought a Sig P226. IMHO the P226 is one of the finest and most reliable semi-autos you can buy. I still have two of the original ones, with made in W. Germany on the slide.

You scared me for a second, I thought the world was coming to an end because somebody as good 'smithing a 1911 as yourself couldn't carry one.  Forgot about the LE thing.

If it's not a 1911 then it is a Glock 20.

Really though probably a Sig (220 or 226), an HK USP .45, or maybe a Glock.

Although I shot my first Browning HP a few weeks ago and it was pretty sweet.
