Here is my 80% stainless steel 1911 project.  The frame is finished... just waiting for the slide to get here.  I checkered the front strap, cut the tangs for the beavertail, machined the rails, bead blasted the rounds and brushed the frame flats.  The lower half parts are fitted and seem to work.

I find it interesting that you cut the rails before you had the slide in hand.  

Is that one of the DIY Guns frames?

I cut the rail slots under sized so that I can fit it to the slide.  I picked it up from Oly at a gun show.
