If you get it chromed, and want to later do metal worK, it can be a PITA.

Gunkote wears real quick.

Black-T as done by Birdsong seems to hold up well, as does NP3.

If you do a lot of work from the holster, esp. a kydex one, you'll wear any soft finish real quick.

Recommend you polish the flats and blast the rounds.

My personal opinion is bead blast it unless it has to be black.  NP3 is great stuff, but Robar's customer service and quality have gone way downhill.

two tone. bead blast both upper and lower. Leave lower stainless and blue upper

Bead blast the whole thing and then blacken the slide. It does not require much pressure to soften the 'finish' on the stainless. I would vote for that.
