Who makes the smallest, most reliable 1911?

Here's a few, but I'm open to other suggestions.

Springfield Micro-Compact

Cylinder-Slide (Bill Laughridge's chopped down .45)

Kimber Ultra Carry II

Para Ordnance CWX645S LDA

as well as the Detonics Combat Master (no longer in production?)

Are you sure you want a micro 1911?

.45 is a bad cartridge to go micro with.  The short barrels really rob the cartridge of critical velocity.

IMO 9mm or .40 make better micro weapons.  (assuming this is a carry gun)

Good luck either way.

I like my Ultra Carry II quite a bit. I carry it in a Galco concealable belt holster.

It may not be the smallest but it does just fine. Colt Officers ACP.

I just bought a Colt Gunsite CCO and its really a great set up!
I do not think I would want to go much smaller with a 1911 myself.
My only problem with the Colt Gunsite CCO is the CRAP they put in as a trigger!  I will be swapping that out before I start to carry it.

Since when did Deltronics start back up into the swing of things?
I do not have any experience with them but I have heard of many people that are very happy with them as long as you realize you are not buying a high end 1911.

I was looking at a used Combat Master the other day on Gunbroker.  Myself, I just kinda lean towards Colt, then Springfield followed by Kimber.

Keep us posted on what you get and how she runs.

The Wilson Combat Sentinel is being brought back out of retirement for this years model lineup.  Here's a pic of mine that Metaloy hardchromed for me.

DAMN!
You beat me to it!
The Sidewinder is a really nice looking piece.
CTBrian does some great work.

The only thing I am unsure of with the Sidewinder is how he redoes the hammer.
It just looks like it is going to end up poking the hell out of you if you carry IWB or tear your clothes to shreads.

I really do like what he does to the beavertail!

From what I understand he will make it with a normal hammer as well.

I was considering getting this same treatment done to my Kimber CDP Compact as I am just more comfortable with the Commander slide.  He said he would do it without a problem but would not label it Sidewinder which would be fine with me.
