SW1911PD's have gained a reputation for being tremendously reliability out of the gate. I'd say the PD if it were for carry, but probably the TLE for range fun.

Bought a SW/PD a few months ago. After proving it at the range over several months and 1000+ failure free rounds, I have not let it leave my hip. 2 more days until the gunshow...might just have to pick up a second one.
PS. I carry for work, and after sometimes having to actually sleep with the thing on AND have my and my charges lives depend on it...the PD is a fine weapon for work or play. |

Smith. The scandium-framed commander model I had was very accurate and totally reliable. Several of my co-workers bought the same gun and have had the same experience. Can't say the same for Kimber.

I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed with either, but here's another vote for the SWPD. I love mine :)

I'd vote for the Kimber personally, if you can find one with an internal extractor. I believe that Kimber is switching back to the internal extractor, so it shouldn't be that hard.
