Has anyone ever finished a 1911 or a slide with the Duracoat finish? If so how did the finish hold up, How did it look when you were done?

I have a Kimber pro carry that is the black color and the slide has a little wear on it and I was thinking about doing the upper in stainless or doing the lower in green and the upper in black.

If you are thinking about making your slide a silvery color, you might want to look into Tripp Research's Cobra Chrome.  It's only $80 to do the slide in matte chrome.  I think Tripp's chrome is one of, if not the, most durable finishes in the industry.  Had it on a Beretta and it was sweet.  Nothing stuck to it.  You could clean fouling off the chrome with a dry towel, no solvent needed.  MJD
