Most recommend changing out the springs of Wilsons to Tripp, ISMI, or Wolff.  That would widen the price difference.

Do you think Cobra copied the Wilson design and just changed the bottom end to avoid patent problems?

They do look quite similar.

How does the bottom fit with an extended magwell/speed chute or whatever you want to call it?

It looks like it'd fit the magwell on my TRP Operator perfectly for a flush fit.

Hmmm I think I'll 1 or 2 and try them out. The only problem is I can get 5 power mags for a little over the price of 3 cobra mags...

every time I spend $20 or more on a wilson 47, I have to question my sanity, considering the piles of metalform/usgi/high standard magazines I have that run 100% (with hollowpoints, too).

Having said that, my 1911's have wilson mags in them, and my mag pouches have them, too.

There is a board member here who sells Wilson 47Ds for something like $105 for 5. That's not a bad deal I suppose, considering they sell for about $30 locally here. Then there's also the group buy. I need to get a few more Wilsons and CMC mags myself, but I think I'll buy a couple of Cobra mags just to try as well.
