I use the Chip McCormack 10 rounders in my 1991A1 Colt, no problems at all. I think I paid less than 20 bucks apiece for them from Sportsmans Guide

If you plan to never use them in an aluminum framed pistol, go with the McCormick magazines. I have them and they work well. I do have 4 Wilson 10 rounders and they are great. They are also nearly $30. If the aluminum thing is not a factor get the McCormicks and spend the extra cash on ammo.

I've got 4 Wilson 10 rounders issued to me for my M1911A1 here in Iraq. I'm on my thrid rotation and they are holding up well. Never had a problem with them in stock 1911s, my custom 1911 or my Lightweight Officers with either 230 gr ball, 230 LRN, 225 LFN or 230 Fed Hydrashoks.

Actualy I do plan on using them in an aluminum framed pistol. SA service BI Tone light weight. Why are the McCormiks a problem in aluminum pistols? |

The follower Design of the McCormik Mags will gouge the feedramp of an Aluminum frame. The follower nose dives into the frame with the stripping of the last round from the mag and when you extract the empty mag the damage will begin. The front runner of dependable 1911 Magazines is WILSON, Tripp Reasearch Cobra mags may also be worth investigating. |

Thanks for the info on that. My frame is set up a little different though. I have the same feed ramp as a lot of the micro 1911s where it is all part of the barrel but still do not like the nose dive deal. I have some Novaks I am trying tomorrow but they are only 8rdrs.

Its not an issue on Springers that have the feed ramp built into the barrel. |

Thanks for all the info. My 8rd mcormick shooting stars do not feed that well. Are the power mags that much better.

I've used Mec-gar 10 rounders and they worked very well for me. I bought them cheap, not a good sign, but was amazed at their reliability for thousands of rounds each. Until they weren't reliable and I tossed them.

I have a few McCormick ten round mags. They are the older ones before the "Power Mag." They have worked very well in my 1911s. I even used them in one shooting school that I attended (about 2000 rounds) without any problems at all. Watch-Six
