After removing the the firing pins on my 1911's, I noticed the firing pin spring has a slight taper to it. One end fits snugly on the firing pin and stays on the firing pin from friction. The other end is a little larger, and slides on the firing pin easily and doesn't have a friction fit on the firing pin. Which is the correct way to reassemble the firing pin and spring?

Thanks!
Dave

Fits snug. [Snug end goes into FP first]

I am so damn glad I remembered this post, I just did the same thing and could not remember which end went on first on my fireing pin.
