I bought a used 4" RIA last year and a few onths ago I cut the frame and put a CMP beavertail and a nowlin commander hammer on it.   The grip safety fits fine and the trigger engages the sear well.  I function checked everything as I went, but when I put the safety back in, I cannot get the hammer to fall no matter what.

any ideas?

Did you fit the hammer to the sear by honing/cutting the hammer hooks? Did you cut or hone the sear engagement surface and relief angles properly? These are very important, more so than the 'trigger fit'.
