I just got one of my Sistema's refinished in green.  The other pictured is still in black (with a relatively new finish).

So here's my question:  Should I keep one all green and one all black, or should I mix-and-match?

Here're two pictures of what a mix might look like:

If I mix them, should things like slide relaze, safety, etc - match the slide or the frame?

Opinions please!!  I'm not sure which one I like myself.

I like the way they look with the contrasting slide lock levers. I'd probably switch the safety as well, since the contrast would look ubercool. YMMV.

I like guns all one color...

Mixed-n-matched color guns remind me of a car with different color doors, hood and trunk.

Just my opinion...

Neat.  I actually like them mixed with contrasting slide release and safety.

Sweet setup, I like the two tone, but you need a double shoulder holster now...

Sorry - I wasn't trying to trick anyone or anything like that.

Thanks for all the feedback.  I'm starting to lean towards the mixed set-up now.

Yea, the gree frame with black slide look good!  Switch out the safety for the black, Maybe even the grip safety?  Either way they both look good.

Unfortunately, it was a few years ago - when SOG still had them.   I believe it was $299 a piece, and they were in excellent, refinished (re-arsenaled?) conditions.  I WISH I could find more at that price.

I am STILL kicking myself for only buying two. I seriously wish I had bought at least five of them, or more.  They are such awesome guns - like a Colt 1911A1 in every way.

Hey, I can help you out.  I'll take that old Rustang off your hands for $500 and you can get another one.

I really like the black slide on the green frame.  Swap out the releases, pins, and slide locks, and you have yourself a stylish set of two-tones.

Where you get them finished?

Mine needs a good finish job.

That's what I went ahead and did.  Looks good.

ThreeMan - I got the green one refinished (with GunKote) at CCR Refinishing.

This is my first GunKote finish, and I really like it (and they did a great job).  I'm probably going to send them two more 1911's to do - and maybe an AR or two as well.
