If it was any other gun, this scene would suck.

Lots of 1911 love in Stallone's Cobra, but it's a very cheesy movie.

.... which evolved into TS turning the Jesse Stone books into movies

Those films are pretty good. But I think the scene in Gran Torino where he defends the Hmong girl from the guys on the corner may be the best in recent films.

That's not a movie though, it's a TV show. :) Least it says Miami Vice, although that don't look like Sonny to me and it don't look like a BrenTen

You know, while cartoony in the 100 round mag and blow people off thier feet way...

Bruce Willis looks like he's pretty fucking handy with a 1911...

Here's clips from Last man standing.  Look past the goofiness of parts and watch the actual weapons manipulation.

eng208.... Jim Zubiena... "A" class USPSA shooter, before there were "M" and "GM"... he was the reason the gun handling was a lot better than most series

That is not only excellent M1911 goodness from the gunhandling, but the pistol itself is some trick stuff.

It's a longslide made by James W. Hoag, back in the day when you had to cut and weld two slides together to get the added length, because there was no such thing as an off-the-shelf slide for anything over a 5 inch barrel.

A guy I used to shoot IPSC (USPSA) with had a Hoag longslide.  The workmanship was awesome.  You could NOT tell it was two slides welded together.
