i am about to purchase my first 1911. i like this one but am a little nervous as i plan on keeping it and want it to be reliable. any feedback would be appreciated.

The Colts are good to go. I have one of their XSE Commanders and I love it, it is reliable so far and a Colt will always retain its value so it's not a bad gun to buy with the intention of keeping forever.

I own the 1880 and the 1980xse and both are very good. I also have 2 of the 1980 rail guns and they are 2 of the best production guns I own.

I have this exact pistol...just bought it recently.  Though I haven't put a whole lot of rounds through it, it is a fine pistol.  And it's beautiful.
