I have been looking at alot of pre 70 Colt 1911's lately.  I noticed some of the "Royal Blue" ones seem to have slides with a different coloring that the frame.   Is this normal?  the gentleman said he was the original owner and it has never had any parts replacced or reblued.   Can someone shed some light on why the different shades and whether it was limited to specific years?

Is this some sort of mystic title like Grand Wizard, High Priest, or Supreme Oracle?

No.  These were all full frame guns from the 60's.   some just had plum colored blueing on the slide and a richer blue color blueing on the frame.   just wondering if that is normal.  I have my eye on a nice 1968 National Match and want to make sure everything is original before i buy it.
