Has anyone else had the crosspin (for lack of a better term) that holds the wooden floorplate into the mag on the WWI P.08s come loose and keep falling out? Any suggested remedies to this?

Get a roll pin from the hardware store to replace it. I've added wood bottoms to a couple repo mags and had to drill out the existing pin and just used to pins to replace them.
