I posted this in the 1911 discussions too but maybe I should have put it here instead. Anyway, I have a para p12 lda and I am thinking of replacing the fake hammer(actually just a flat piece of metal, similar to a DAO setup) with a skelotonized hammer because I think it looks better. Holster question is, if I did that , I could not have it in a cocked and locked positon(due to the lda design). Are most holsters that are for 1911 that have a retention device that goes over the hammer, designed to be used with the hammer cocked?

Pluses and minuses of putting this hammer in?

If you get a hammer from/for a Para LDA and get someone who knows the workings of it to put it in if you don't, no problem, but I don't believe a standard 1911 hammer is used in these arms because they are LDA, have thier own propriatary fcg I think.
