Picked up this pistol several months back, but have never really had a chance to fiddle with it. The guy that I bought it from had
bought too many "toys" around hunting season, and his SO had finally figured out how much $$ had gone into his hobby, so
she was pissed!

So he had to sell some odds & ends to recoup some of the $$. He said that it's pretty much been a "safe queen" and from it's
finish, I can believe it. He said that it hadn't had a full box of shells put through it, and I can believe this as well. And for
what I paid for it, I figured that it was a 'no-loss' deal, as though I'm not a big 9mm fan, for what he was asking, I decided that
I could always sell it off to somebody else who was.

My question is: From members who have dealt with this type before, are there any mods or tweaks that I should have looked
into having done? It's an earlier piece, as it doesn't have the 'hammer drop' lever, but I'm not sure really how old it is. I sent
Taurus an e-mail, asking about an age look-up, just to see how old it is, but haven't received a reply back.

Taurus has one of the best warranty's on the market. They're ok, nothing spectacular but certainly not a Lorcin or Jennings.

A replacement spring set from Wolff Springs should make the trigger better.

I would say to shoot it first, then decide.
Then you will know if you want to keep it as is, modify it or sell it.
At least it doesn't have 10 round mags...or at least shouldn't have.

you should have hi-cap mags, if so , keep those. They're worth more than the gun

I have a 92AF and love it. I prefer it to the Beretta because of the frame mounted safety. I'm not sure if it's old that it would be covered by the lifetime warranty. The mags aren't very expensive either. As for mods I'm sure grips and barrels are easy, and you could check out Ernest Langdon, a Beretta 92 specialist, and see if the parts are interchangeable.
