I believe the Mec-Gar magazines are considered quite desireable and are rated as highly as the SIG factory magazines.

+1 on the Mec-Gars. They actually make the "factory" magazines for several of the major European companies. For the 226 their 17 rounders are 100% reliable (for me, I have @7 or 8) and +2 over the factory 15 rounders.

The 18 round AFC Mec-Gars are as good as it gets for the 226, IMO. Check Top Gun Supply...

I like the Mec-Gars better than factory Sig mags because you get an additional 2 rounds in the 226 and 228 series. They are extremely well made and it's all I buy for my Sigs.

Mec-gar makes the factory mags for Sig. Mec-gars are cheaper than the Sig stamped mags, hold more rounds and seem to have a better finish.
