It takes practice. I still every now and then have to tell myself to squeeze straight back with my weak hand. One thing you can try is to change the position of your strong hand in relation to the position of your trigger finger on the trigger. I place the back strap right in the bottom of the "V" formed by my thumb and forefinger for most of my guns. However I have a H&R .22 revolver that has a trigger weight of 100 lbs it seems. To compensate for the heavy trigger I place the back strap inline with the first joint of my thumb. This will allow you to place your trigger in the first joint of your finger instead of the pad. It gives me more leverage so I don't tighten my grip trying to squeeze the trigger.
Dry firing is great for trying different positions to find one that works best for you. But if your gun is to big or small for your hand then trying different grips might be the answer.
I have a friend who has small hands. He can't shoot my Taurus good because he can't get a good comfortable grip on it. He is bang on with my Hi-Power though.
It saved him some money because he was going to buy a Beretta 92FS. Instead he opted for a P226.
That is why shooting with a group of people is so helpful. It gives you a chance to try different styles of guns and different grips without spending your money first.
