Already have an XD9SC for IWB carry, but also want a small pocket 9 for hot weather carry, but want 9MM for ammo commonality. Could go .380 if I had to, but would prefer 9. Thanks!

The Walther PPS is ideal for the OP's criteria. Somebody I know said "shit - it is like my Glock 26, sawed in half lengtwise!"

Compare these stats from the Walther site with whatever else you come up with:

Kel Tec PF-9.

I actually think it's a little large/heavy for effective pocket carry, but it's the best (lightest smallest) option out there.

The PPS is slim, but it has a fairly large profile. And it doesn't hold a lot of rounds.

For a true pocket gun for days with absolute minimum clothing, Kel-tec with a fluff and buff, or LCP .380.

What else can be said? These are the slimmest full power handguns on the market today. It prints less than the 442, and is thinner than the 442. The 442 is lighter and holds less ammo.

Drawing from a pocket requires some practice and is slower than a "normal" holster. Both draw very well.

My PPS has been 100% so far, but so has my 442.

I plan on getting a leather pocket holster of some kind, the Kydex is very stiff for a pocket holster.

I own a PPS as well . It works in a pocket (cargo pant ) but tends to look like I am carrying a paperback book in my pocket. It is a nice lightweight pistol that I plan on carrying for summer IWB though.

I've never shot the Walther PPS, but I held it twice at the store. I didn't like the way it felt. It's not the gun for me. It seemed top heavy or something like that.

I have no first hand experience with the Rorhbaugh R-9, but it looks like it would meet your criteria:

I just viewed some vids and reviews of the PPS and it was looking good until reports of malfunctions popped up. I'll wait. One of the good features is the PPS trigger allows for fast rapid firing. The long DA only trigger of the Kahr PM9 rules it out for me.

Really? Check out Rorbach or however you spell it. I own a PM9 and it is a pig next to a Rorry.

I love my PPS. After 900 rounds it's back to Walther for a slide stop issue.

PF9 is slightly slimmer. The PM9 is shorter length and height wise though. I've tried both for pocket carry and have since moved on to a 442. Much better for pocket IMO.

Glock 26ss. It is the single stack version of the G26. It holds 6rds of 9mm (or 7 with the mag ext.)

Oh yeah, sorry I forget. Glock hasn't bothered to make this one yet. Apparently they were too busy designing new slide serrations for the so called Gen4 Glock!
