I own an older model. Chambered in .357 mag, and I shoot full power 158gr jacketed ammo as per the manual.
Yes it's reliable with the 158gr ammo. Not all that whoopie with 125gr hollowpoints though! Shoots quite accurately too. Just as good as about any revolver.
You didn't ask if I like the gun. No, don't really like it all that much. Too big/heavy. I'm 6ft tall with normal size hands, and this is a "Paul Bunyan" sized piece of hardware!

The pistol was inherited, I didn't buy it. A fine firearm other than the weight and size. I always considered these way way overpriced. The gun is interesting in design, and well made, but the finish work on the parts leaves a bit to be desired from the price standpoint.
Mine doesn't have any grooves on the barrel rib, and I'm not all that familiar with DE models. I got this gun from my father in law when he died. He bought it new in the mid 1990's.
