firearmstactical.com recc's 124 gr +p for shorter barrels. not sure if glocks are rated for +p, but if so, go for the gold dot in that variety. for longer barrels they think that +p in 124 tends to overpenentrate.

+P ammo is difficult to find locally, but that firearmstactical.com site did a test of 147 grain Winchester Supreme SXTs in a Glock 26, and found them to "Satisfactory." I happened to have some of those, so I'll load them up until I can find the +P Gold Dots.

The Winchester Supreme SXT's don't do well against heavy clothing. I'd go with a 124-grain +P Gold Dot loading. You can order a very good rendition of this round directly from Pro-load, if you can't find it locally. The G26 will do fine with +P ammo.

Winchester Ranger RA9TA (127gr +p+).
I like the RA9T (147gr) better, but not out of the shorter barrels. |

Mine shoots better with heavier bullets, but I have read mixed reviews on 9 mm 147 grain stopping power. I compromised and went with 124 gr Hydrashoks.

147's in the Ranger T line are among the best (THE best, IMO) performers with regards to expansion, penetration and the ability to defeat glass. If you're not comfortable with the 147 and can't find the 127gr Ranger T, then I recommend the 124 +p Gold Dot. Hydrashok's are an old design and don't reliably expand like some of the newer designs out there. |

Even from 3" barrels the 147 grain RA9T will expand reliably to 25+ yards. How much range do you need for the pistol? If 15-20 yards is good for your carry gun the RA9T is your best bet.
