In the movie "Broken Arrow" near the end of the movie John Travolta has a full auto pistol that looks like a modified Beretta M9. My curiosity has caused me to search everywhere for info., but so far nothing. Anyone know what it is, or is it just a movie prop gun???

Do you know if there are many of them floating around? I've never seen one at gun shows. As a matter of fact, the only place I've seen one was in the movie. Also, do they make a semi auto version, or just the class 3 select fire version?

It is primarily intended for thier spec ops community (italian) but some have gotten out to various govt agencies. I believe it was popular at one time as an executive protection (secret service) type agency weapon and other "plain clothes" operatives that need full auto but like the Glock 18, The russian Stechkin (sp) full auto pistols have never made it as big as regular SMG or even compacts like the MP5K but they are out there. Rate of fire if I remember correctly is around 800-1000rpms. Heck of a handful if anything like the Glock 18 I got to shoot.

Is this also the same weapon that was featured in the movie "Equilibrium"?  Looked like 92s but had variable fire, semi and auto... just curious

I personally always liked the VP70

if I remember correctly, there are exactly 7 transferable Beretta 93R's in the US. 7. I don't even want to know how much they go for.
