Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - What's your experience with Walther P-1s?

I was able to pick one out of a batch of about 20 the other day.  Dated 6/79, all matching with good finish and no apparent structural problems.

I have an ac 44 P.38 which is just fine.  I prefer a steel frame...simply a personal bias.  This is the first alloy frame pistol I have ever owned.

Please wade in with your opinions of the P-1.

I bought one of those imports last year. I think I got it for $289/319, something like that.

Shot great, no problems with the frame at all. I too would have preferred the steel frame but for the money, it wasn't gonna happen.

Wasn't this the first DA semi used by a major army?
