Long story short, I sold my CZ compact .40 because it was a jamomatic and I went to Cabelas to get a new .40. They have a Glock and M&P for about the same price.. Which one should I get?

I would go Glock, for trigger upgrades, holesters and less expensive mags.

But you should buy whatever fits YOU the best. M&P has a great feel, but I have no need for one.....yet

Personaly I would go with the M&P. I have it in the 9mm and love it. Both are going to give your years of great shooting. To me the M&P feels better with its changeable backgrips. Also prefer the takedown on it.

I'd go with whatever feels better in your hand. Personaly I just picked up a glock 20 yesterday. Have an M&P and a XD so figured I should get a glock next. Besides I wanted a 10mm and it was cheap compaired to some of the others.

The Springfield XD is another gun to look at although the XD-M is more expensive(the XD has a lower round count in the mag).

I would try and rent both if you can, but I shot better with my glock 23 and glock 19 than my MP9 or MP9c. However the MPs both felt better in my hand, so you might see if you can rent them.

I got a M&P and really liked the feel, but it had issues. I sold it and bought a Glock and really like it. I have to say that the Glock doesn't fit my hand as well, but it is rock solid when you need it. If the M&P had been reliable I would give it the slight edge because it feels awesome.

I'd go with the M&P. I most definitely do not like the Glocks in .40, especially in a compact gripframe. The G22 or G35 probably wouldn't be so bad; the fullsize grip is a lot less painful to shoot for me.

If this is your only SD pistol, I'd go with the Glock.

That said, I've been favorably impressed with the M&P. I have really been kicking around getting one - but I already have Glocks in 9mm, 10mm, .45, and .357 - and Glocks are what I carry at work. I am really just kicking around getting the M&P 9mm to put it through it's paces.

Remember that the people who did that sold the company at a gigantic loss. The new owners (Saf T Hammer) have nothing to do with the settlement.

Don't ask us go feel them. Whats good for your hand. Find a range that rents and shoot both if you can.

Me? I gave the Glock to the wife. I now have 3 M&P's to go with my 4 1911's.

I'm a fan of the Glocks. The G23 is good because of the versatility with changing the bbl and mags to 9mm for cheaper practice and/or ammo availability. That being said , I'd rather have a G19 over both of your options.
