bought a GRIFFON 1911---has all the toys on it,good night sights.
didnt cost an arm or leg, works great.
about 1500 rds. through it and never missed a lick

IIRC this gun is made in South Africa? The South Africans certainly have more than ample skill, knowledge and experience to be able to turn out 1911's as well as anyone in the world. I'd be very interested to know if they are, indeed "home built" there or just Phillipene imports gussied up. Does anyone know?

Can you get these without the stupid "compensator" slots in the barrel/slide?
