I have handled just about every pistol out there and the pistol that points the best is the Browning High Power, it just fits the hand and is an extension of your arm having a natural point. The 1911 is a close 2nd and the Ruger P series are the worse, big and clunky.

For me, I put the 1911 and the HK USP as the best pointers I have handled.

Yes, the P-08 Luger is another great pointing pistol, I didn't think of that one.

The Styer-M series is one of the few I have not tried. But judging from it's design it looks like it would sit low in the hand.

In a pistol the best pointers are my 1911's, but for me nothing is better than my Colt SAA

it will vary a little from person to person, but over all, a 1911 points, and feels the best to me. My CZ75 feels only a slight bit wider, but points as well.

Depends on your hand and what feels more natural to you. If I'm shooting the Glock a lot, the 1911 feels akward - and vice versa.

I was pretty young when I handled it, and never shot it, but my uncle's Walther PPK or PPS or whatever it was seemed to point perfectly in my hand at that time. Felt like an extension of my arm...

Love my HPs but the absolutely best pointing semi I've ever shot is the SiG 230. If you can point your finger at something you'll hit it with the 230. Of course, YMMV.

Your question being about pointablity not fit of the hand, I have to reinterate the Steyr M series. The bore of the gun sits so amazingly low that it's like you are pointing at the target with your finger.

As far as fit to the hand goes, the ergonomics of the grip are superb to anything else I have shot.

556mm, I have seen pic's of this pistol so I understand what you mean, but the shops I frequent never had one in stock for me to hold, no one at the range ever had one either. Maybe at the next big gun show in my area I will get a chance to check one out, thanks for your input.

Personally, the Glock 19/23/32 series points the best naturally for me. A Sig P229 was a close second.

i had a steyr M9, it was an awesome design and functioned without fail, but i just couldnt get used to the trapezoid sights. i would always aim it low. my glock 21 i could hit anything i wanted and was probably the first gun i had any success at marksmanship with. im getting there with the usp .45, it aims real well especially with the fiber optic front site in it.

one gun i cannot point well with yet is the glock 26. im functional to a degree with it but i cannot get good accuracy with it as i have big hands and havent figured out how to hold it right. its the wifes gun anyway.

I couldn't have said it better myself. For me, the P35 feels like I was born with it in my hand. Perfect balance.

JMPO but I think that the beretta 9000 full size feels so damn good in my hand that it's hard to comprehend why I don't own one,,,, Oh yea, I hate the trigger and the gun is to bulky.

SIGs and Glocks, though both have very different grip angles. Sig 228 frame fits me like a glove. I prefer the the lower bore axis of the glock though. Each of us should have different answers because every hand and brain is different.

The father of a friend of mine in St. Louis was one of the Airborne troops that jumped on D-Day and landed (alive, thankfully) in Ste. Mere Eglise (sp?). He brought home with him upon discharge a BEAUTIFUL Luger officer's model (built in , I think, 1931) and THAT is the finest fit and pointing handgun I have EVER shot-I hit what I was aiming at (a beer can at about 15-20 yards) the FIRST time I shot it, and it was also the FIRST handgun I ever shot-I think I was about 13 or 14 at the time. Absolutely spectacular pistol. Other than that, I second the HiPower vote. I have a 92FS, 1911A1, P239 and a S&W 686 and the HP is still my favorite as far as "natural" point goes.

The most natural grip angles/feel for me are the following in order:

Browning High-Power
1911
FN Forty-Nine

I own a Sig P226 and have previously own Glocks 22 and 23, but none feel very natural for me.

The XD series seem to fit my hand the best. I don't know if they are better than my 1911s, but they are close. Although my Glocks have a lower bore axis, the grip angle makes the pistol point a little high.
