Tripp Research was an outfit that did refinish jobs on pistols. They were renowned for the Cobra Chrome (that you see in the pic) and the work that they did on Sigs and XD's
Unfortunately, Virgil Tripp is no longer refinishing pistols as of last month. That is a damn rotten shame too because I have a Sig P226 that I wanted to have him do |

Well damn! I've been looking for a Bi Tone XD9 but I've finally settled that I'm going to have to get a black one. But now I'm looking for a ported model. And that Cobra Chrome on a ported model would be

I was fortunate enough to get Tripp Research to hard chrome my XD. I love the finish.

Looks pretty neat Xwing! I like the subtle tiger stripes much better than the pistols sporting "Bengal" tiger stripes.

That is sweet. I've been looking for an XD9 too. I'm about ready to buy a used XD9 with some finish wear. Then I have a reason to have it refinished in NP3 (looks like brushed stainless).
