Volume.

The Glock is as popular as ever.  It's the new S&W wheel gun.

Part of it is volume, as others have stated, and it's not as if glocks still aren't popular and are unable to move their products. However, their competition has definitely picked up the pace over the last 3 or 4 years or so. Guns like the Smith & Wesson M&P's and the Springfield Armory XD's (and, now, the XDM's) have reduced some of glocks market share and this will most likely continue for some time to come.

Mine are constantly going places.  In the holster on my belt, in the range bag in my Jeep, or on the tank bag of my motorcycle.

Dumping Glocks? I have four and they are not going anywhere. Here in the PRM, we cannot get new Glocks, because they are BAD, BAD!!!! Or so says our Attorney General. But I digress. Used Glocks here are going for between $600 and $800. I would love to get a G19 but I was shown a fairly well used G19 and they wanted $699 for it! Yup! We can't even get XDs here. I just bought a M&P and it is a nice gun but I love my Glocks. My daily carry gun is a G27 and has been for 12 years.

Glocks have been in the US for almost 25 years so there should be a good amount of used ones on the market.

Plus a lot of Police agencies are dumping their Glocks some for a caliber switch some for new Glocks cause theirs are old others for one of Glocks competitors.  Also, I do not know if they still do this but you used to be able to trade an older model glock and a cnote for a new gen.

Holy crap, if I lived in MA I'd get my FFL and travel the nation buying up cheap glocks to resell there.

Glocks are here to stay

No one is taking their place in the LEO or Civilian market

I'd pass on a XD/MP anytime for a glock

As everyone has said, Glocks make up a massive portion of the handgun market while AKs, SKS, and AR15 only make up a fraction of the long arm market.  Its just your perception, perception isn't always reality, give it a rest.  We aren't stupid, we understand what you are "just saying."

I am selling all my Glocks for 1911's and M&P's. Nothing wrong with the Glocks, the M&P just works better for me.

Went like this

Steyr
XDs
Glocks
M&P- this is what I'm sticking with unless I find something better.

Time to dump Glocks?  I did not get the memo.

However, I did recently exchange my Glock 20 for an EAA Witness.  The Glock was unreliable with factory ammo, had poor geometry, did not like my reloads, and beat the hell out of my 10mm brass.  So, it had to go.

I think they have a preban/post ban pistol law there. You cant have any new pistols if they are of a certain type

There are probably more glocks sold in the us than ak, sks ar15s and 1911s combined.

I am getting rid of a few Glock because I had several and narrowed it down to one caliber/one mag type. No sense in having .45, .40, 9mm, .357, and 10mm around.

I only have one Glock 17. I have 3 HK USP's and 1 Smith & Wesson M&P. I like my Glock but will probably only own the one I have now. Lots of nice pistols competing for peoples money.

So because you've seen used Glocks for sell you have decided that everyone is dumping their glocks?    What kind of logic is that?  I'm sure you took the time to visit or survey at least 100 gun stores and obtained sales data for new handguns over the last several years.  Or maybe you just talked to one sales guy at one gun store....  Sorry but I just read a long post about a guy who bought a fake Colt based on one person posting that the rifle he was thinking about was a rare Colt worth a bunch of money.  Tired of people posting without any basis in fact.

Judging from the 1st page of the Handguns section in the EE, it looks like H&K, Sig, and Tarus are the ones getting dumped.

At least right now it looks that way.

I recently sold a  G17, but it was to fund the purchase of an OD G34...and now I'm wanting a black G34...

I haven't even handled a MP or XD yet.  In my mind, what's the point when Glocks have been so well proven.  I'm sure they are great guns and I'll have to rent some of them some day, but for now I'll stick with what's worked for me for 10+ years.

There are always used glocks for sale.

Every noob thinks they are so bad ass so they buy them. When they realize that they are dipshit fuckfaces who don't know shit, they sell them..

This happens a lot.

I sold my G17 only so I could get a silencer for my AR.

I figured with a G19 and G26 i would have all my bases covered.

It's probably b/c there are at least 10 times more Glocks on the market than there are XDs.  Therefore, if one in 10 used Glocks get sold, it seems like a lot more than 1 in 10 XDs getting sold.

I've gotten rid of all mine except a 2nd gen G19 used for a truck gun.  I don't ever expect to get rid of that one.

I didn't care for the .40 and .45 Glocks, and my G17 was just gathering dust in the safe, so I swapped it for a new laptop.

Not sure about the Glock's, but I know that my local dealer laments the fact that he is sitting on some XD'd that he can not move. I asked him why and he said that the M&P's moved them aside.

One of his exact quotes was "right now, I can't give away an XD--nine months ago I could not keep them in stock."

He has a lot of Glocks in his display case. I don't know about his sales of them, though.  He did tell me that he could not keep Kimbers and M&Ps in stock.
