Not many options. Taurus makes a couple of .22s but they're gonna go for your $300 limit. Ditto for Ruger. S&W will be in the $400 range.
Used would be your best bet. I'd check Gun List newspaper & hit your local gunshows. It's not too often a good used .22 is let go by its owner. I just paid $300 for a used S&W Model 63. Damn fine gun & it was the ONLY one I've seen at gunshows for a couple of years. Good luck. |

My local gun dealer had Taurus .22 revolvers for $225, I forget which model and I couldnt find it on their website. It was an 8 shot with what I think was a 5" barrel or so.

There are USED deals to be found if you look around. I snatched up a S&W 22LR Revolver in EXCELLENT condition locally for $125!

Were you looking at a SA or a DA revolver? A single would be a Ruger Super Single Six or for less $ you could look at a Heritage. Both come with 22 LR and 22 WMR cylinders.

Look at the Ruger Super Six... .22 and .22mag (extra cyl included). More range in terms of ammo.
