Anyone have experience with either sight? I know that the J point will fit on Optima bases. Can the Docter use the Optima base?

No it can't. I have one of each, the Docter and Optima sight. The Docter sight is a little bit larger but not by much. Just enough so the Optima bases won't fit.

But the Docter's price is up there, around $280 not including a base which runs about $50.

The J-point is a good sight.

I have a DR and like it but if I had it to do over I might have picked J-point it has most of the improvements without the big price.

if you don't mind me asking...

There is a great article on the JP and Doctr site in this months issue of Front Site magazine(National publication for USPSA).
It give a breakdown of both good points and bad.

Where is a good place to get the Dr. and maybe some reviews of it?

I have the Docter on a Mini-14 and the Optima on a Colt Commander .45 ACP.
