HAVE 1980'S COLT 1911 THAT IS NICKEL PLATED.  CAN SOMEONE RECOMMEND A SHOP IN RENO NEVADA AREA OR NORTHERN CAL WHO CAN DO A DECENT JOB STRIPPING NICKEL AND THEN PARKERIZING?  IDEAS ON OTHER BLACK FINISH?  IDEAS ON COST?

consider just buying the parkerised gun that you
desire.Likely to not cost much more in the long run
and you wind up with the first gun to have,shoot,or

Robar is who you want. They're nationally known as being the best. Their Np3 finish is similiar to parkerizing but acts like teflon.

Robar is in Northern AZ, IIRC. Am Handgunner has run many articles on them.
