Well, for the same price you can get a CZ50. Its a .32 caliber so it packs more punch and the gun is actually useful due to is concealable. It was modeled after the Walther PPK

I just bought one for 145 the other day.

I have a CZ-52 that I bought so I could play with .223 Timbs (7.62x25 with a .224 bullet in a .30 cal sabot).  I have one of the "Excellent" $140 ones; it's "OK".    ammunitionstore.com has yugo non-reloadable ammo for $130/1050 or reloadable S&B for $170/1000.

i love mine. not real accurate but DAMN WHAT A BOOM! ammo is cheap and pretty easy to find. It will also shoot the 7.62x25 machine gun ammo. Built like a tank and a very mild shooter. the firing pins are supposed to be very fragile. they have a stainless steel upgrade kit that also lightens the trigger pull. If you get it DO NOT RELY ON THE DECOCK SAFETY. many of these are broken and the firing pin will fall. use the pencil test before trying it for real.

As for the cz 50 having more punch.... what the heck are you smoking? the 7.62x25 is one hell of a hot round.

Check out makarov.com. they sell .22 sabots that let you load 55gr .223 rounds into the case. They come close to rifle velocity.

For the money they are REALLY hard to beat.

I've bought CZ-52'ss from SOG and CIA. The $109 SOG pistol was as nice as the "Excellent" from Century. Delivered cost was about $20 less.

Both of mine have been accurate with the surplus Yugo ammo ($65/560 rounds from SG), and they are very easy to clean when you are using corrosive ammo.

And like the Beer_Slayer said; these things make quite a boom

Sort of like the comparison of the fast but smaller .357sig round compared to the slow but larger .45acp round.

That was the logic I was using.

I like mine.. bought VG, but turned out to be EXCELLENT  

I'd have to say the -52 has more power than the -50.  ENERGY delivered to the target ? (IMNSHO)

There's minimal difference between .32" and .30", and the 7.62 has roughly 3X the muzzle energy of the 32 ACP.

A 32 ACP has about the same stopping power as a 22 LR; it won't go through a big city phone book.

Neither will a 45, I have tried...  44 mags tear up books nicely though...

As for the .32 vs 7.62x25, there's no comparison. Both the .32 and the 7.62x25 are virtually the same diameter in real life. Just as .380 really isn't .380 caliber, .32 isn't really .32. The .32 has a lighter bullet travelling slower. The 7.62x25 has a heavier bullet travelling at nearly up to twice the speed. It's not even close. A similar comparison would be between a .380 and a 9mm+P, or a .30 Carbine and a 7.62mm NATO.

While the .45 is indeed slower than the .357 Sig, but it's also much heavier and much bigger. Neither of which the .32ACP has over the 7.62x25. The 7.62x25 has the same practical diameter, a heavier bullet, and faster velocity resulting in far more energy than the .32.

Ok let me be different.  I had a CZ-52 and really didn't like it.  It just felt junky to me, and I never trusted it.

I sold it, but I still have my Tokarev.  The Tok was always a better shooter. Plus reloads are much faster (it has a side mag release like a hi-power).  And it just seemed better built.

I know the CZ-52 is designed to fire hotter rounds, but over all I liked the Tok better.

They're utterly square in the grip, which makes them not the best to hold, but they're a bit of fun.  I like the rocketship of a round.  Truth be told though, I find them most entertaining for their engineering.  They have a roller locked breech, for Skuld's sake! How cool is that? XH

I love mine and anyone who thinks that a .32 ACP has more power has never fired a 52.  They will penatrate damn near anything including standard body armor.  You must move into magnum territory to match it's performance.  BTW I paid $119 for 4 or them (each)

just for the record i am more accurate with mine at 100yrds than i am at 20.
