I have a S&W Mdl 29 but no experience with Dan Wessons.

Can someone compare and contrast the S&W 629 with the large frame Dan Wesson in 44 mag?

Recent 44 discussions have me itchin' for a 4" barrelled specimen.

There's two versions of the Dan Wesson, the old & the new.

The old style has the threaded barrel that you lock on the muzzle end & the new ones are traditional.

The Dan Wesson owners all seemed to like them, it didn't appeal to me about having to constantly adjust the cylinder gap or at least checking it.

I don't have any experience or know anyone who does with the new Wesson models. I know they were in & out of bankruptcy so parts down the road would be a concern.
